Floor Barre  is practiced as its name indicates on the floor.

The exercises, performed to music, are based on classical dance exercises and  many classical dance postures.

The same exercises can be performed in a sitting position, lying down (on your back or side), and lying flat on your stomach.

Practicing on the ground has the advantage of freeing the body from the constraints of its own weight; Back and joints are freed from all pressure!

 

Fit Ballet Barre is a muscle strengthening class inspired by classical dance and performed entirely at the Barre in a more dynamic atmosphere and with more rhythmic music!

The entire class takes place at the Barre with or without small equipment (ball, elastic band and light weight).

A more dynamic version than the Floor Barre, this class is more cardio and more intensive

 

As Physical activities , the regular practice of Floor Barre and/or Fit Ballet Barre has many BENEFITS.

A muscular and toned body with muscle lengthening, as in Pilates:

  • Engagement of the abdominals with the result of lengthening the waist, a flat stomach and better support,
  • Buttocks and thighs more shapely,
  • A toned back and firmer arms.

A supple body together with a slender and harmonious appearance:

  • Stretching the muscles and softening the joints,
  • An improved posture.

Relaxation and mental well-being:

  • The required concentration along side, breathing and working with an awareness of one’s body provides a deep feeling of calm, of reconnection with oneself and an improvement in confidence,
  • Work on coordination using music and rhythm!

 

The muscular engagement which is required during these classes allows in-depth work on stabilizing muscles essential for perfect support and good posture. Regular practice of the Floor Barre and/or the Fit Ballet Barre will sculpt your body.

Classes are accessible to all, requiring no prerequisites or experience as a dancer.

Whether it is Floor Barre or the Fit Ballet Barre class, your teacher will offer you options adapted to your level so that you always practice safely.
